The hip-hop community is dealing with some sad and disturbing news to start the year. New York-born, Florida-raised rapper J $tash, born Justin Joseph, allegedly killed his girlfriend and then himself during a New Year’s Day domestic dispute.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriffs, a report of domestic violence came in at 7:14 a.m. on New Year’s Day in Temple City, CA, and deputies found the bodies of Jeanette Gallegos, 27, and Joseph at the scene. The pair had apparently been dating for roughly a year.
From what the reports are indicating, the incident occurred in front of the young woman’s children, although they weren’t physically harmed.
“The woman’s three children, who range in age from 5 to 11, were unharmed,”People Magazine reported.
“They were removed from the home when deputies arrives, the sheriff’s department wrote in its release.”
The Associated Press also reported that it was one of the children that called 911, but it’s unclear if the call was made before or after the shooting.
