AUBURN, Wash. — Three people were killed in a shooting inside an Auburn home Tuesday evening.
The Auburn Police Department (APD) said the shooting happened around 7 p.m. on the 2100 block of 66th Street SE. When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman and a 10-year-old child dead inside a home.
The APD said a 12-year-old child was also inside the home at the time of the shooting but was able to get away safely. Police said the child got in touch with a neighbor, who then called 911.
Police said the 12-year-old has been safely housed, and officials are in contact with child protective services.
One neighbor told KING 5 they heard about five gunshots.
Police said the shooting appears to be a murder-suicide, but detectives are still investigating. There is no threat to the public, and the APD said there are no outstanding suspects at this time.
