The New Orleans Police Department has arrested 34-year-old Benjamin Beale after a woman’s dismembered body was found in a freezer on Beale’s property.Beale has not been charged with murder but is being held on charges of obstruction of justice.This is not the first time there’s been a gruesome case like this involving a dismembered body in New Orleans. In 2006, less than a year after Hurricane Katrina ravaged this area, Addie Hall’s body was found in her French Quarter apartment on Rampart Street dismembered with some of her body parts stuffed in a freezer. Her boyfriend, Zach Bowen, admitted to killing and dismembering Hall. He confessed in a suicide note before jumping off the roof of the Omni Royal, a popular French Quarter hotel. The story made national headlines and is still part of French Quarter haunted history tours.At least one book was written about the murder-suicide.
