And the Punisher star is preparing to step into the shoes of a familiar character with his next project.

He showed off his ripped physique Monday, as he stripped off his shirt for an impromptu wardrobe change, on the Malibu set of Showtime’s TV reboot of the 1980 erotic thriller American Gigolo.

The 44-year-old changed into a chic button-down dress shirt as he got dressed next to a classic convertible, with the ocean in the background.

He performed opposite an unidentified female costar, who donned an avant-garde long-sleeve red printed dress with puffy shoulders.

Bernthal stars in the upcoming series as sex worker Julian Kaye, who was originally played by Richard Gere in the neo-noir classic.

Gere starred as the male escort, who walks out of a session with a husband and wife after their violent requests make him nervous, only to become the prime suspect when the wife ends up murdered.
