turned positive after paring their early losses in Thursday’s volatile session, ahead of the weekly F&O expiry later in the day.
The S&P BSE Sensex was trading at around 49,600 levels, up 115 points, and the Nifty50 index was testing the 14,600-mark. IndusInd Bank (up 3%) was the top Sensex gainer, followed by TCS (up 2%), and Larsen & Toubro (up 1%). On the other hand, HCL Tech was trading 2 per cent lower.
The Nifty sectoral indices were mixed, with Nifty Metal index, down 1 per cent, leading the list of losers.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices were both up 0.2 per cent.
Den Networks, HFCL, Reliance Industrial Infrastructure, Tata Steel Long Products, Websol Energy System and Digicontent will announce their quarterly earnings on January 14.
