First off, Chantel said you should add a ‘little uncooked rice’ to the bottom of your bottle.

Then, pour in one cup of cold water and add a little dish soap to the mixture.

‘Shake it all together and rinse the bottle,’ Chantel explained.

‘The rice will help to scrub the inside of the bottle and leave it perfectly clean.’

Some were concerned about wasting perfectly edible rice, but Chantel said you don’t have to ditch the rice just because you’ve finished with it in your bottle.

Instead, you can either dry it and re-use it every time you need to clean your bottles, or Chantel said you can use it to make a DIY air freshener.

‘This is the perfect biodegradable option, and it works every time,’ the mum said.

Many also suggested that you can use egg shells if you want ‘zero waste’.
